I've never needed my breathe mantra more.

Everything is a mad mindless scramble lately. Take yesterday morning. I rushed Jack to his little green potty chair hoping to avoid an accident only to hear Dylan splashing behind me in the big white one. I shooed Dylan out and realized Jack had wandered out of the bathroom with his pants at his feet, unwiped, unwashed. By the time I'd corralled Jack, Dylan was back at the toilet, this time launching toys into it. This nonsense continues ad infinitum.

Dylan was also uncharacteristically clingy (please, please, please let him not be getting sick). I spent HOURS with him in my arms, trying to figure out how to accomplish minor tasks (filling a sippy cup with milk, slicing an orange) with approximately zero free hands. I wasn't very productive yesterday, but I'm pretty sure my arms are going to be bufftastic this summer.

Oh and I hope the UPS delivery woman enjoyed witnessing my frantic sprint to beat her to the doorbell while the boys were -- at long last --- napping.

On a much, much happier note, the B pennant pictured above is part of the most amazing gift I've ever received. Not only were you supremely thoughtful, Boots, to commission this banner of my chosen word for 2012, but the artist too, floored me with the obvious care she took to craft something meaningful. Each letter is inspired by a photo she knew I'd admired or taken and I'm not sure if you (not you, Boots, I know you've seen it) can see the handwriting but she penned in a few quotes from letters I'd written here along with key dates in my life. Holy mindblowingly thoughtful. I haven't put the banner up yet mostly because I'm so enjoying poring over each individual letter.

Breathe.

Grateful,

Tea
